GENERAL MEETING   Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Incumbent California Senator Denise Ducheny is term-limited so Coronado Democrats hosted a forum between candidates for the 40th state senate nomination, Juan Vargas (San Diego) and Assemblywoman Mary Salas (Chula Vista).  After the forum, the Club decided to postpone a candidate endorsement until a later date. 

The Club's  general meeting was at full-house capacity for the candidates' forum between Juan Vargas and Mary Salas, who will compete in the June 2010 Democratic primary.

Our guest speaker was Cath De Stefano, Executive Director of Citizen Diplomacy Council, who spoke about the organization's mission to promote global understanding via face-to-face exchanges between San Diego citizens, local experts and emerging international leaders and dignitaries. GENERAL MEETING   Saturday, September 26th, 2009

The featured speaker at our General Meeting was Zoltan J. Lucas, M.D., a retired physician and retired professor of surgery at Stanford University Medical School.  Dr. Lucas spoke to the group about health care reform and the need for a single payer plan.
